St. Vincent's C.B.S.

St Vincent's C.B.S secondary school, is a secondary school located in the district of Glasnevin in County Dublin, Republic of Ireland. The school contains roughly 300 students between the ages of 12 and 18. The school has around 30 teachers whose abilities spread around numerous subjects and skills. The school has seen a slow increase in the number of students applying each year from schools as far away as Navan, County Meath. The principal of the school is Mr Timothy Hurley. The school is also famed for winning the young social innovators 2006 award.

The school is located in Glasnevin, County Dublin, a few metres away from the world famous Glasnevin cemetery. The Finglas road travels down by the front of the school, with smaller roads leading to the entrance.Behind the secondary school is the St Vincents C.B.S primary school from which many of the secondary students come from.

The school contains: a 25m swimming pool (which is used by students and the general public), a large gymnasium (which contains an unused canteen as well as a basketball court where large scale competitions) are held, a 10-15 acre field, separate chemistry and physics laboratories and two fairly big computer rooms with around 20 computers each. There are roughly fifty classrooms in the school although some are unoccupied. The school was recently refurbished with new windows, new desks, the addition of a second computer room (as mentioned above), and new equipment for the laboratories.
