St. Thomas More (Sheffield school)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Saint Thomas More Primary School is a primary school just outside the village of Grenoside in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It caters for children between the ages of 4 and 11. The school opened in May 1954 with only a few students in each class, and the basis of the teaching staff was mainly nuns.

Until the first half of the 1990s the school contained only four classrooms, for reception and year 1, years 1 and 2, years 3 and 4, and years 5 and 6. In 1995 a new classroom was built, extending the coverage of the age groups. In 2000, a new mobile classroom was opened further extending the ability to cover all classes - thus meaning a total of six classes.

The current headteacher is Mrs. M. Delia Kay

The School is one of the family of schools in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hallam. It is the parish Primary School of St. Thomas More in Parson Cross - a parish within the Hallam Diocese
