[edit] History

St. Scho Marikina has been constructed upon the request of SSC alumnae to have a Benedictine school in their vicinity (Pasig, Quezon City) for their children to go to. People involved were Mr. Jose Tuason who offered a land to the Missionary Benedictine Sisters in Marikina at a very low and special price, Architect Imelda Borromeo Cancio who made the master plan for the school and the convent, Father Abbot Rojo, OSB and Marikina Mayor Osmundo de Guzman, and the prominent people from the area, friends, alumnae and students. We also remember in a special way our pioneering sisters: Sister Eleonora Engelbrecht, OSB, Superior together with Sister Irmengardis Kuhn, OSB, Sister Joaquina Santos, OSB and Sister Andrea Yllana, OSB who opened classes in June, 1961 with only 62 pupils including young boys. Not to forget is Cardinal Rufino Santos who blessed the school on August 15, 1961 together with Cardinal Bishop Antiporda. Guests were Ambassador Von Fuerstenberg of Germany, Dr. Winternitz, representative of the Austrian Embassy and the priests and religious, alumnae, students and friends.

Until 1985, boys were admitted in kindergarten.
