St. Nicholas Grammar School

St. Nicholas Grammar School was an English Grammar school, located in Northwood Hills, in the London Borough of Hillingdon, England.

The school existed from 1955 until 1977 when, following amalgamation with the neighbouring St Mary's Grammar School for Girls, it became a co-educational comprehensive school, and renamed Haydon School. The Headmaster for much of its time as a grammar school was Dr. Robert Francis Edward Watson (8th March 1910 – 16th July 2004) who assembled a hand-picked teaching team to start the school in 1955.

St Nicholas is one of the finest grammar schools in North West Middlesex. You boys should be proud to be a part of it

Although it was a new school of only moderate size and with just adequate facilities, it quickly established itself on the sports field and sent several sixth formers to Oxbridge annually. Largely due to the excellence of its teaching staff the school held its own against the larger and older established public schools in the area.^{[citation needed]}

St. Nicholas has a number of well known alumni, including several millionaires, and persons active in the media and business world. Most notably, Felix Dennis, the millionaire publisher (originally of Oz magazine fame); Colin Edwards, ex-Vice-President of Finance North America (GlaxoSmithKline Cosumer Healthcare); Jon Henley, head of The Guardian newspaper's Paris office; and Marc Peirson, television scriptwriter (Doctors, Colby Central, Emmerdale).
