Saint Matthew School, is a Catholic, co-educational elementary school located in Cranston, Rhode Island USA.

It is led by a community of lay teachers, committed staff, and involved parents, alumni, and parishioners of nearby St. Matthew Church. Guided by the teachings of the Sisters of Mercy and the Diocese of Providence, Rhode Island, the mission of Saint Matthew School is to develop the total human person in unity with God's Trinitarian life. Christian discipleship, as outlined in the Gospels and Roman Catholic doctrine, is the heart of the Saint Matthew School curriculum and the fundamental ideal of their efforts. Each student is empowered to strive for reverence, spiritual growth, intellectual excellence, emotional maturity, social responsibility and healthy physical development. Currently, there are basketball teams for boys and girls.

Saint Matthew School, under the direction of Principal Elaine P. Dykstra, currently serves students in grades Pre-kindergarten through 8. It also has a three year old program. There are after-school services for parents that can't pick up their child by the end of the day. There is an After School program where kids can stay and do their homework that ends at 5:00 p.m., a tutoring program that is headed by pre-kindergaten teacher Ms. Laterneu, that ends at 5:00 p.m., there is a drama club that is headed by the school's librarian, Mrs. Drukman, and they put on an annual Christmas play that varies but does not go past 4:00 or 5:00 p.m., and there is also a strings program headed by Gerri Lajoa that ends depending on what rank your child is but will never end after 5:00 p.m. The school colors are red and white. In 2002, the school celebrated its 50th Anniversary.
