The St. Marys Pipe Band is a grade 1 pipe band, based in the Suburb of St. Marys, New South Wales.[1] The band has been been competing in the Australian Pipe Band Championships since it was formed and has obtained successful results, including winning the Championships in 2006. Recently the band has committed itself to competing in the World Pipe Band Championships over the next five years starting in 2005. In 2005 the band achieved 11th place and in 2006 they came 3rd in the Grade 2 competition.
In 2007, the band finished 3rd in the Grade 2 contest at the World Championships in Glasgow, and was subsequently promoted to Grade 1 by the Australian Pipe Band Association.[2][3]
