St. Mary's Metropolitan Church, Changanacherry

St. Mary's Metropolitan Church Changanacherry was also built by the Raja of Thekkumkoor at his own expense near the Kavil Bhagavathy Temple. The tombs of Mar Mathew Kavukattu, Mar James Kalassery, and Mar Thomas Kuriallassery draw hundreds of people to the Metropolitan Church.
The major celebration of the church is the festival of St. Sebastian (January) and of St. Mary (September). This Metropolitan Catholic church is the oldest Christian church in the diocese.
