St. Mary's Catholic Secondary School is a Canadian secondary school in Hamilton, Ontario, operated by the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCDSB). St. Mary's is located in the West Hamilton area near McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation/McMaster Children's Hospital.

St. Mary's Catholic Secondary School is known for its excellent sports teams, the Crusaders. Current feeder schools of St. Mary's are Canadian Martyrs, Guardian Angels, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, St. Augustine (Dundas), St. Bernadette (Dundas), St. Joseph, and St. Thomas (Waterdown). St. Mary's offers a wide variety of subjects from which students may choose to take....

Founded in 1970, Father Fergus Duffy was the first administrator of the school that supports the Roman Catholic community of Westdale and West Hamilton today.

St. Mary's has many excellent sports, which have won the school numerous and consecutive titles in the OFSAA, GHAC, HWRCSSB, SOSI, HWCDSB, and many City titles.

St. Mary's crusaders have retained the D-1 championship for the last 2 years. Along with championships in 2005,2003,2002,1999,and 1992.

Basketball is a strong sport at St. Mary's. St. Mary's currently holds 27 girls' championship titles and 6 boys' championship titles. Recently, the St. Mary's senior girls' basketball team beat out their local rival, Westdale Warriors, for the SOSI Super 12 Senior Girls' Basketball Tournament.

Allan Bester, retired NHL Netminder for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and Dallas Stars is an Alumnus of the school.

The strongest sport at St. Mary's, by far. The rowing team puts in the most training of any Crusaders team and receives top results at the national level. The women's rowing crew of St. Mary's has been awarded the honours of Canada's Top Women's Rowing Programs the past 3 years under the coaching of Kevin Monaco. They have captured 12 National Championship titles and 9 City Championship titles in the past 10 years.

Notable Graduates of the St. Mary's Rowing Program:

Joe Stankevicius: 2002 & 2003 World Champion (Men's Heavy 8+) and 2004 Olympian; Royal Henley and Royal Canadian Henley Champion.

Jenny Hogsden: 2006 Member of the Women's National Lightweight Team; 2006 Queen's Top Female Athlete; 2006 Recipient of the Tony Zasada Award; 2005 Rowing Canada Sculler of the Year; 2004 Rowing Canada and RowOntario Crew of the Year; 5 Time Ontario Uuniversity Champion, 2 Time Canadian University Champion; and 9 Time Royal Canadian Henley Champion.

Nicole Alderson, Breanne O'Connor and Laura Cers: Scholarship Athletes to the University of Louisville

Taryn Goba: 2 Time Royal Canadian Henley Champion; and Scholarship Athlete to Boston University.

The soccer teams of St. Mary's have been some of the best in Hamilton, with numerous city titles and other OFSAA and GHAC Championship titles. Several of the Crusader women's players have gone on to play CIS and NCAA soccer. Allison Heydorn Central Michigan Alanna Vespa St. Francis (PA) Ashley Donald St. Marys University Nicole Roetsart St. Mary's University Jasmine Richardson Carlton University. The Crusader Women's Teams have been OFSAA "AAA" Champions in 2000 and 2006, while capturing Bronze medals in 2004 and 2003.
