St. Joseph Junior/Senior High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Hilo, Hawaii.

Founded in 1869, St. Joseph School is the only Catholic School on the Island of Hawaii. Located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Honolulu, it is a co-educational school from toddler through grade 12, with an overall student to teacher ratio of 17:1. [1]

School Programs

St. Joseph School has many high school extra-curriculars. The basketball team has won district II championships for several years, due to legendary player Will Scanlan-Leite. SJ HS Mock Trial is also a very successful activity. Led by Dr. Nathan Yocum, the program has been run for two years, and has already defeated the 16 year winning streak of Hilo High School. In 2008, SJ HS competed in state competition against two HBA Teams and Kauai, the best team in Hawaii, and one of the best in the nation
