St. Joseph's Health Centre is a large Catholic community hospital in western Toronto.
Founded in 1921, the hospital's history is linked to Sunnyside Residence orphanage, which was founded by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph's in 1876. The hospital once had a school of nursing, but it was closed in 1974.
Our Lady of Mercy Hospital was a separate hospital created in 1941 and located next to St. Joseph's. The two hospitals merged in 1980.
