St. Boniface Canadiens

The St. Boniface Canadiens were a Manitoba Junior Hockey League Team. The St. Boniface Canadiens won 4 Turnbull Cup Championships as Manitoba Junior ‘A’ Champions, 1953, 1954, 1956, & 1958.
The 1953 St. Boniface Canadiens won the Abbott Cup by defeating the Lethbridge Native Sons. They went on to lose the Memorial Cup to the Barrie Flyers. The Flyers' roster included Don Cherry who scored two goals in the final series against the Canadiens.
The 1953 St. Boniface Canadiens were inducted into the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame in the team category.
St. Boniface Canadiens become the Winnipeg Warriors from 1964-65 to 1966-67.
During the summer of 1967, community-minded sports group purchased the Winnipeg Warriors from Ben Hatskin, renaming them the West Kildonan North Stars. The Warriors played only three seasons.
For the 1976-77 season the Team’s name was shorted to the Kildonan North Stars.
In 1978, the Kildonan North Stars captured the Turnbull Cup as Manitoba Junior "A" Hockey Champions.
