Since 1917, St. Austin Catholic School, located in Austin, Texas, has been educating Kindergarten through Eighth grade students. With one homeroom per grade, St. Austin School has 244 students. The families come from 37 different zip codes.

In September 1917 Newman Elementary School was established as the parish school for St. Austin Catholic Parish. Three Dominican Sisters of Houston were given the direction of the newly established school. When an eighth grade was added for the 1941-1942 school year, the school became a complete elementary school, and the name was changed to St. Austin Catholic School.

In 2005, St. Austin was awarded national Blue Ribbon School status - the first private/parochial school in the Austin metropolitan area to receive this honor.

Also the ST. Austin's athletic teams were known for their greatness with the boys AA Basketball team losing only 3 times in 4 years. The football, Volleyball, Soccer, and Track teams, were consistently good. Two of the Nation's up-and-coming athletes have graduated from here, David Rodriguez, and Charlie Copa
