St. Augustine’s High School is the school of the Congregation of Christian Brothers in Vasai, India. Founded in the early 1970s, t is an all boys school, with students from diverse cultures and backgrounds. The language of instruction is English.
The school is open from 7.00am to 1.00pm. It has about 2000 students and a proportionately-sized faculty and staff. As per the Indian schooling standards, it runs from Kindergarten to the 10th grade.
Subjects such as Maths, Science, History, Geography, Sports, and Arts are offered. The school has computer and science laboratories, and a library with books and research materials.
This school is considered to be one of the best schools in the Mumbai suburbs and/or the Vasai belt.[citation needed]
The school has performed exceptionally well in sports; the soccer and cricket teams are particularly good.
Pope John Paul II visited the school in the year 1985/86. He gave his speech there in Marathi, the local language.
School alumni have become engineers, doctors, business professionals, and teachers.[citation needed]
