St Andrews Catholic School is situated in Grange Road, Ottways Lane, Leatherhead in Surrey, England. Originally a convent, it consists of two main buildings; the central building dating back to the mid 1950s and a grange dating back about 200 years.
The school is on the boundary of Leatherhead and Ashtead and has been in competition with neighbouring schools for some time. It is a faith school and is a major building block of the community surrounding it. The test results of pupils have been outstanding the past few years, despite a few set backs for many years. The school has many good links with other churches, schools and bus services which reflects this. Currently, the school is under major redevelopment, building a new teaching block and seeking to build a new sports centre. The sale of the Grange building has also been agreed.
The school develops round its Christian ethos and has made many great, improvements and achievements in recent years. It has many individual attractions including the yearly Sponsored Walk where students walk 6 or 12 miles to raise money for charities and the Dance Showcase which takes place at Leatherhead Theatre every year which is a must watch. It is now a 'College of Maths & Computing' as well as being one of the top 10 most popular schools in Surrey[citation needed].
