[edit] Rationale of fair use for St. Charles Elementary School (old) crest

  1. The image is a self-made reproduction of a school logo and crest which no longer exists.
  2. The crest or logo was originally intended for distribution to the public by St. Charles Elementary School.
  3. No free or public domain images have been located of this logo.
  4. The logo image is a digital master reproduced from a very low resolution black and white photograph, and is likely the only digital reproduction of it in the world, and therefore historically significant to those conducting research on the subject.
  5. The logo image is no longer in current use by the school administration or governing school board, the Lester B. Pearson School Board, as it has been superseded by the schools current crest. Presumed copyright owner of the crest, the Baldwin Cartier School Commission is no longer in existence.
  6. The logo is being used for informational purposes only.
