[edit] History
The station was built as part of Trondhjem-Størenbanen in 1864. The station building was burned down during war activities in the spring of 1940, but a new station building was soon constructed. It was adjoined with Rørosbanen in 1877 and to Dovrebanen in 1921. At the same time it was converted from narrow gauge to standard gauge.
