Your RfA

Thanks for the note. Don't be discouraged. As I said on the RfA page, two more months, and you will easily pass. Just wait patiently and eventually someone will offer to nominate you. - CrazyRussian talk/contribs/email 04:23, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Srikeit, you will be an admin. You're an asset here and it is a genuine pleasure to work with editors like you. Please continue the good work. Cheers. -- Samir (the scope) धर्म 05:35, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Work for you

I can't think of something significant just now. Take a look at my sandbox where I have listed some things to do. Also you can create stubs for Sandesh, Gujarat Samachar and Divya Bhaskar and Center for Environmental Planning and Technology if you are free. I am trying to tackle the culture setion today. - Aksi_great (talk) 10:46, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Following pictures could be helpful : Law garden, a good picture of the Sabarmati riverfront development work, a picture of the Thermal power station (something on the lines of Image:Mills-Ahmedabad.jpg. A nice picture (preferably from a high-rise building) of the SG road and/or the CG road. A picture of the Motera staduim/Sports Club stadium from outside. That's it for now. P.S. see that you remove the date option from your camera :)- Aksi_great (talk) 11:09, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Good luck!!

Hi Srikeit, given my recent inactivity, I was lucky to support your rfa. Too bad it ended this way. I recommend that you try for it again after a couple of months or more, as most of the oppose votes had more to do with your account age rather than spoecific acts/ activities. All the best. --Gurubrahma 12:44, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi Srikeitbhai - I'm very sorry to have disappointed your expectation in me, but it had become impossible for me to compromise my principles. I don't covet adminship at all, so it wasn't a difficult decision. However, I cannot tell you how greatly joyous I feel at the enthusiastic, wonderful support you expressed for me. I don't know how hard it will be to understand that your supports means extremely a lot to me. I thank you from my heart, and please let me know if I can ever be assistance or help in anything. Highway's RfA

Request for Adminship
Thank you for supporting/objecting/tropicanising me in my request for Adminship. Although I wasn't promoted to admin status, with a final vote count of 14/27/12, I am very happy with the response I received from my fellow Wikipedians. I was pleasantly suprised at the support, and was touched by it. I will also work harder on preventing disputes and boosting my edit count (which is on the up), so thank you to all your objectors. Hopefully I will re-apply soon and try again for the mop. Thanks again, Highway Rainbow Sneakers

My PotD

Will you join My Picture of the Day? The reason I have it, is so images that aren't Featured quality can still be featured. Anybody can put a picture there. All you have to do is pick a day for your picture, and create a page in "User:GeorgeMoney/Month DayNumber, Year". Then, use the following format: Put {{SUBST:User:GeorgeMoney/potd/template|image=Your image.jpg|width=500px (optional)|description=<an optional description>|size=250px (optional)|user=Your Username}} on the page of the day you are creating (Remember for all of the optional variables that you don't use, totally remove them from the syntax). Then all you have to do is put {{User:GeorgeMoney/potd}} on your userpage, and it will automatically make the picture for the day. If you want to have it show your picture forever, put {{User:GeorgeMoney/potd|May 47, 2009}}. Replace "May 47, 2009" with the day your picture will be on.

Also, can you add your name to My Spamlist? Don't worry, my spam isn't bad and annoying like the Esperanza and Community Justice spam. My spam is just news and events in plain text formatting like this.

Thanks, --GeorgeMoney T·C 02:12, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Srikeitbhai, you should take my words to heart. I am not in the least disappointed. And indeed, my first and only concern in the matter was whether I was letting you and other supporters down. I am breathing the pure air of freedom. Rama's Arrow 12:37, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi Srikeit. Thanks for the support on my RfA. It meant a lot to me. I have thought about the whole incident and have decided to leave things at that for now. The whole thing wasted 5 hours of my time here. Anyways let's get back to what we all do best. - Aksi_great (talk) 14:59, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your support

Dear Srikeit/archive 4 — Thank you for your support on my recent RfA. It succeeded with a final tally of 72/2/0 and I am now an administrator. I'll be taking things slowly at first and getting used to the new tools, but please let me know if there's any adminnery I can help you with in the future. —Whouk (talk) 01:06, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi Strikeit, thanks for supporting my request for adminship! Unfortunately, it ended with a final tally of 45/15/2, no consensus. I may have another go in the near future, once the school year is over. Thanks again! -- getcrunkjuicecontribs 22:59, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

GA

Should we actually nominate this article for GA. Isn't it supposed to be primarily for short articles which will never reach FA? As said in Wikipedia:What is a good article? "For articles longer than about 20Kb, the more rigorous reviewing of Wikipedia:Peer review and Wikipedia:Featured article candidates is generally more appropriate than the process here." What should we do? About the images it is really a coincidence because even I was looking at that bare area and wondering which images could be added. Should it show the Sabarmati river, or Vastrapur lake? Or like Mumbai and Kolkata a satellite view of the city? - Aksi_great (talk) 14:38, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the barnstar

Srikeit, thank you for your barnstar! It's always great to receive barnstars, and you've made me very happy indeed :). The tool's still rather simplistic, so if you have any suggestions, please feel free to direct them to me. Happy editing, Tangotango 15:56, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

My RFA

Thank you for the kind words. :) However, after some thinking, I do not believe I have the time for adminship, nor the qualifications. I know it's probably too soon to withdraw, though I am fairly sure I would have no chance, given my lack of experience throughout Wikipedia. I will try to work more throughout Wikipedia, and maybe in a few months I'll try again. Thanks again. Hurricanehink (talk) 16:29, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

You're right, I almost had that feeling. I know none of you were against me, so I will try and take your advice and work elsewhere. Thanks again. Hurricanehink (talk) 17:11, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Sukh's RFA - Thanks!

Thank you for your vote on my RfA. Unfortunately there was no consensus reached at 43 support, 18 oppose and 8 neutral. I've just found out that there is a feature in "my preferences" that forces me to use edit summaries. I've now got it enabled :) Thanks again. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 15:46, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

Hurting feelings of Maharashtrians.

In your Mumbai article, why is that Marathi is been not stated as main language spoken in city. For your kind information approx.25% of total population speaks Marathi. There is no sizeable amount of Urdu speakers in Mumbai. So there's no need to write Mumbai's name in Urdu. I hope you understand. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.95.3.202 (talkcontribs)

Re:User:58.170.30.215

To answer your question, no I do not. It is a matter of personal discretion, but someone who is blatantly vandalizing in such a way does not need to go through a series of "test" messages when they are clearly not. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 08:13, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Electromagnetic suspension

Hi Srikeit. I see you reverted Electromagnetic suspension back to the version that includes RSQ's technology for electromagnetic suspension in automobiles. I've been removing the RSQ stuff, but I'd like to discuss it with you before going any further. The reason I'd been deleting that paragraph is because it describes a speculative technology that by its own admission hasn't been built yet. To me it seems like it falls under crystal ballism. I'd like to get your opinion on this? Thanks, Gwernol 14:39, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. I'll go ahead and remove it. All the best, Gwernol 14:47, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Vandal fighting

Hi. I see you're doing a cracking job reverting vandalism and giving out warnings. Can I make one request though? - That is, that you try and use the graduated {{test1}} to {{test4}} warning a bit more, rather than the one chance template or jumping straight to test4. The reason is if the graduated ones are used, it makes it far easier for admins to skim the talk page and ascertain if a block is appropriate. Cheers, Kcordina Talk 11:27, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

In agreement. Thanks for the revert on my user page. Peace, Kukini 04:52, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Audio Pronounications

Hi,

I see you've been adding audio files indicating pronunciations to articles. I wonder if you could add three audio files for me related to Sikhism? I'd like one for ['sɪk'kʰiː] (ਸਿੱਖੀ, सिक्खी, sikkhī), one for ['siːkɪz(ə)m] (seekism) and one for ['sɪkɪz(ə)m] (sikism). Thank you! Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 12:12, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
