Arbitration clerk
Hi Srikeit. I have made you an "official" arbitration clerk, after there were no objections raised by the rest of the Committee. Thank you for volunteering, and for the work you've done already. If you have any questions, you can ask me or any of the other clerks. You know where to find me. :-) Dmcdevit·t 07:35, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- Congrats Srikeit/eww :) Daniel.Bryant [ T · C ] 08:04, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

PPC_edit
Hi, I have noticed that you have deleted the article PPC_edit, as it was unnotable. What is exactly the definition of unnotability? I don't want to argue with you or to be offensive, I just want to know. Thanks. -Sedimin 12:22, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Temporary injunction on BKWSU
Hi
thank you for the notice.
Is it possible to leave the page locked until the arbcom case is settled as well? On one hand, it is too easy for editors to use other users IDs/plain IPs to continue on their edit war. On the other, one party is an organization with a group of supporters involved.
The topic has a fairly narrow band of interest and there has not been much third party interest.
Thanks. 195.82.106.244 08:12, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- 195.82.106.244 I have left a comment on your talk page. Regards Bksimonb 09:34, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Formatting for Arb Evidence Sourced from an Archive
Can you tell me what the proper procedure or form is for presenting Evidence in Arbitration when the material is found in an archive? I don't understand how to present such material in the form of a diff. Does one simply point a reference to the material in the archive? My thanks, in advance. GenghizRat 10:17, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- It isn't necessary to provide evidence in a diff form in arbitration however diffs are the most effective way of providing evidence as they lead directly to the point you want to illustrate and are quite permanent (a wikilink on the other hand may become redundant if the topic is archived). Evidence may be provided in a number of ways. For example, if you want to link a topic called "Block enforcement requested" from the 152nd ANI archive, you can :
- Use the URL as a link [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/IncidentArchive152#Block_enforcement_requested] which will appear as [1].
- You can also give a name to the link: [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/IncidentArchive152#Block_enforcement_requested Block enforcement required] which displays as Block enforcement required
- If the evidence is stable (i.e in an archive that is not likely to be moved) you can wikilink it: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive152#Block_enforcement_requested Block enforcement required
- If you want to illustrate a particular edit by a user you can use a diff. For example the diff form of initial "Block enforcement requested" post by Demiurge is [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents&diff=prev&oldid=92535241 Post by Demiurge] and will appear like this : Post by Demiurge
- Evidence for arbitration is welcome in any form. If you are still unsure about how exactly to post your evidence, point me to the archive where the evidence is situated and I will help you compile your evidence and present it in a proper format. Feel free to ask any further questions that you may have regarding the arbitration process. --Srikeit 12:30, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

DYK question
I was thinking of submitting Power Transition theory into DYK but it says submit it under the date in which the article was created. This article was created in January this year, but I expanded it from stub status by well over 1000 characters just today. So what date do I submit it under? Nobleeagle [TALK] [C] 05:06, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- Blnguyen seems to have answered your question. May I add that you have done a very fine job on the article. Kudos! --Srikeit 08:06, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
RfArb Question
Hi, I observed that you created Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Starwood/Evidence. I added there a request for checkuser [2]. I do not know if Arbitrators/Clerks look at the evidence page in real time, or whether they wait for statements to be made and then examine all the evidence at one point. In any event, I do not wish my request to be neglected for too long, as I understand that login information is kept for only a limited lifetime. Please advise me whether I should take any further steps to ensure that a prompt checkuser is performed. Thank-you. Sincerely, --BostonMA talk 15:10, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- (Srikeit is out for a few days.) You should make your request on the workshop page Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Starwood/Workshop in the section "Motions and requests from the parties." You should probably give some rationale or explanation as to why you think these users are sockpuppets. To make sure the arbitrators are aware of the request, you could post to their talk pages (at least the more active ones) or send an e-mail to Arbcom-L at Wikipedia dot org. Agathoclea's RfA
Hello, and thank you for the support on my recent RfA. The final tally was 63/3/2, and I have now been entrusted with the mop. I hope I can live up to your trust, and certainly welcome any and all feedback. All the best, and thanks again! — Agathoclea 13:01, 25 December 2006 (UTC) |
What can I do?
Sorry to bother you with this but lately some with different IP-adress has been harrasing me with some unbelivable accusations, that I'm a sockpuppet for KarlXII and Osli73 and that I'm a chetnik and so on.. see here: [3] [4] [5] [6]. You could also read that there is some threats. I would be happy if you could take a look at this and tell me what I can do. Best regards - Litany 19:49, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- I wouldn't worry too much about those attacks. It seems like a common vandal making personal attacks and if he continues he will be dealt with reverts and blocks. I'll be watching your talk page and will do the needful if he returns. Cheers --Srikeit 12:27, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Piotrus/Ghirla
You seem to be the main clerk here so I'll pose this question with you. Although the committee agreed to hear the case, these two editors are making real progress over at User:Durova/Mediation. Ghirla's withdrawn his request for Piotr's desysopping and they've reached agreement on several other matters. At the rate they're going I'm optimistic they can conclude a good agreement on their own.
I've been attempting to craft this as a special mediation with voluntary remedies. So far they've agreed on two solutions in tandem, one of which duplicates an arbitration remedy. The arbitration-like solution is mutual civility parole. We've worked on devising ways to enforce that outside of arbitration, but since the case opened anyway perhaps you could sound out the arbitrators on this proposal: formalize civility parole through an arbitration ruling, which would open regular enforcement channels. The participants also agreed on an informal solution to appoint a neutral third party who would refactor their talk page comments upon request.
If mediation continues to work it could spare a lot of headaches for everyone. Even if it stalls we could provide at least a partial solution to the committee. I've never seen an arbitration open parallel to cooperative mediation so I want to touch bases on the formal side of things. How does this sound to you and the arbitrators? DurovaCharge! 20:43, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- Firstly, thanks for your efforts. If this matter does get solved sans arbitration then it will be a great thing for everyone including arbitrators who IMO don't derive any particular pleasure in handing out harsh decisions. The arbitration case is open but mediation can definitely continue simultaneously. If mediation is successful, the case will be dismissed but in the unfortunate situation that it doesn't arbitration will proceed. [7]. --Srikeit 13:22, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
ArbCom Clerkship
Hi Srikeit,
I was wondering whether it would be possible to help out with some ArbCom clerkship chores and see if I would be good at the job. I am interested in the whole process of conflict resolution and would like to see more (not with me involved of course) :):) Anyway it said here to contact a current clerk is interested so that is what I am doing.
Just in case you wanted to know, the only ArbCom case I am indirectly related to at the moment is Waldorf education where I informally mentoring User:Pete K and User:DianaW at the request of User:Durova see User talk:Lethaniol/Pete K. I suppose I would still be interested in similar mentoring in the future, where there was no Conflict of Interest if I was a Clerk.
Cheers Lethaniol 14:12, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Oh have just seen that you got promoted to clerk this month. If you want me to bother someone else with this just say. 14:35, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks very much for offering to volunteer but we seem to be pretty well staffed at the momment with sufficient clerks and informal helpers. We will definitely contact you if we need any help. Thanks again --Srikeit 13:22, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Starwood Festival & RasputinJSvengali
First of all, Happy New Year to you.
I have just left this note on User:CheNuevara's talk page:
I have just seen an action taken by User: RasputinJSvengali during this arbitration (and, as far as I know, an ongoing mediation) which not only rewrites the text of the article and deletes the entire "Featured Speakers" and "Featured Entertainers" sections, but adds "Satanists" and "the Illuminates_of_Thanateros" to the list of people attending. I am afraid that this has been done to bait me into a revert war during the arbitration. As an objective party who has offered to help with my efforts to rectify the problems caused by the disagreements between myself and other editors, I would like to ask you to reverse this action and request that User: RasputinJSvengali refrain from such actions. For several weeks I have only reduced the number of links and added 3rd party citations, all of which were requested by editors during the mediation, and have engaged in civil discussion on issues related to the article on the discussion page without actually doing the editing (except for one grammatical edit). Thank you. Rosencomet 17:53, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your support
Thank you for your support in the RfA on my behalf. It is an honor to have received your expression of confidence. To be chosen as an administrator requires a high level of confidence by a broad section of the community. Although I received a great deal of support, at this time I do not hold the level of confidence required, and the RfA did not pass. It is my wish that I will continue to deserve your confidence. Sincerely, --BostonMA talk 16:05, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I've been moving and so was not online for over a month to catch your proposed deletion. I also am not clear on the reason for the deletion. I would like to request reinstatement of the wiki for California Politician Michael Stettler, of which I am the author. Duff 03:27, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

The standard boilerplate article probation template doesn't apply in this decision. You should probably customize the language. Thatcher131 19:07, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
A very Californian RfA thanks from Luna Santin
Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of (97/4/4)! I've never been able to accept compliments gracefully, and the heavy support from this outstanding community left me at a complete loss for words -- so, a very belated thank you for all of your kind words.
I have done and will continue to do the utmost to serve the community in this new capacity, wherever it may take me, and to set an example others might wish to follow in. With a little luck and a lot of advice, this may be enough. Maybe someday the enwiki admins of the future will look back and say, "Yeah, that guy was an admin." Hopefully then they don't start talking about the explosive ArbComm case I got tied into and oh what a drama that was, but we'll see, won't we? Surely some of you have seen me in action by now; with that in mind, I openly invite and welcome any feedback here or here -- help me become the best editor and sysop I can be.

- Glad to see you're still pretty active. :) We need all the good people we can get. Luna Santin 12:47, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
