Srinivaspur is located at 13.33° N 78.22° E^[1]. It has an average elevation of 819 metres (2687 feet).

As of 2001 India census^[2], Srinivaspur had a population of 22,926. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Srinivaspur has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 58%. In Srinivaspur, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Horticulture is the majorly practised intensive commercial manual laboured dominant agricultural typology oriented towards the Cultivatin of fruits majorly mangoes. This Makes Srinivaspur taluk stands first in the mangoes production in Karnataka State

"The truck forming dominates the summer months from March to June, brings up the pool of economy to the taluk".

The Milk and Silk production are the other forms of Agricultural practices. So rearing of Milch of animals and sericulture makes its district Kolar with other taluks a land of milk and silk .
There are many horticultural nurseries supporting the taluk. Few among those famous horticultural nurseries are 'sri chowdeshwari horticultural nursery' located to the west of Srinivaspur TWO kilometers on the way to Chintamani & SHIVA NURSERY GARDEN located TEN kilometers away from Srinivaspur on the way to Kolar,They are very famous in the neighbouring districts of Karnataka and even Andhrapradesh.
Srinivaspur is also famous for Mangoes which are exported throughout India.

SRINIVASPUR showcases tight Politics in the Karnataka State. Present MLA of the constituency is Sri G.K. VENKATASHIVA REDDY, a proven JDS Leader, who is also the Kolar Dist JDS President
JDS party which lead a good majority in local elections 2007 under his leadership has again shown its capability in the taluk in 2008 MLA elections.
The other popular leader is Ex-speaker Sri Ramesh kumar
