Coordinates: Srimushnam is a panchayat town in Cuddalore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Srimushnam is located at [1]. It has an average elevation of 39 metres (127 feet). Srimushnam is also a very important vaishnavite temples and also one among the ashta swayambhu kshetras of lord vishnu. It is said that lord vishnu resides in this particular place in three forms. One in the form of tree outside the temple, Also the banks of the sacred tank (nithya pushkarni) and in the form of Bhoovaraha Swamy.
The beauty of the main deity in this temple is that it is not sculptured by any human and is a formation of the stone saligarama (black smooth round stone).

As of 2001 India census[2], Srimushnam had a population of 12,000. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Srimushnam has an average literacy rate of 61%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 70%, and female literacy is 51%. In Srimushnam, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
