[edit] Serbia is Kosovo
Please could you stop trying to alter the Serbia article. Kosovo is no longer a part of Serbia, and has not been governed by the Belgrade government since 1999—having been under UN administration since then. Kosovo is now an independent country, under EU supervision, with full recognition from the major Western powers: UK, US, France, Germany and Italy. Kosovo is no longer a part of Serbia and will never be so again; deluding yourself to the contrary is not Wikipedia policy. Imperium Europeum (talk) 00:08, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Wikipedia is no place for Serbian nationalism. The opinion of the Great Powers on issues like these is all that matters. It is they, not irrelevant little Serbia, that set international law. It is they that have the military power to enforce that law, just as they did in 1999 when Milosevic ordered the Serbian army in to kill the Kosovoans. And it is their opinions—not those of the UN, China or Russia—that matter the most. You must accept that Kosovo is now a fully independent country, fully recognised by the Western powers. And while it is under European Union supervision, nothing Serbia can do will alter that simple fact. Serbia must now accept its new found place as just another little country on the borders of the European Union. One day, Serbia might even be lucky enough to join that Union. So please refrain from venting what are nothing more than your subjective opinions on Wikipedia. Imperium Europeum (talk) 00:51, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

- Quite frankly, and for the record, as a Briton—and hence a citizen of one of the most powerful nations in the world—I do not really care very much about the ongoings in minor peripheral countries like Serbia and Kosovo. Therefore, I cannot possibly be approaching this from the perspective of British nationalism. What I do object to, however, is your insistence that Kosovo is still a part of Serbia, which is factually inaccurate and thus against the policy of Wikipedia. Serbia has had absolutely no control over Kosovo since 1999, and will never gain control over the newly independent country again. This matter has now been settled, because the American, British, French, German and Italian governments have decided to make it so. Given that Russia and China have no power to prevent the Western powers' decision, Kosovo is now and will remain independent. You may delude yourself to the contrary, but this is the new state of affairs for both Kosovoans and Serbians. For the sake of your own country—which I assume is Serbia—I urge you to accept this and move on. You have a brighter future if you forget Kosovo and speed your preparations to join the European Union.
- Finally, you're dreaming if you think that Russia and China are as strong as the United States or the European Union. Russia has an economy about 16 times smaller than either, and a defence budget which is about half the size of France or the United Kingdom's—and about twelve times smaller than the United States'. China's is a little bigger, but not much. Imperium Europeum (talk) 01:14, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

- Thank you for you latest musings. I don't care what side Serbia was on in WWII or anything similar. This has nothing to do with the issue at hand: Kosovo. What I do care about is the fact that you continue to vandalise an article, when the factual evidence is so very clear. I will report you should this unhelpful and inappropriate course of action you insist on embarking on continue. Imperium Europeum (talk) 01:32, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. // Chris (complaints)•(contribs) 01:46, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

- I'll be honest, I don't care who wrote what. Both of you have gone well over the 3 revert rule, and I've warned him as well. You both need to stop reverting and discuss this on the talk page. // Chris (complaints)•(contribs) 01:57, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Start a discussion on the talk page, without continuing to revert. Other users will chime in. If you're still not getting anywhere, I'd suggest filing what's called a request for comment. That should get uninvolved users to take a look at the problem and try to work out a compromise. If that still doesn't work, there are other steps we can take. I understand your concern about the map. I'm trying to find a compromise map that will show Serbia and Kosovo in a different color, to indicate that the status is disputed (instead of leaving Kosovo off the map altogether). But you have to remember that this is a fresh topic and in the news, so a lot of people from both sides are going to be making hasty edits. Just remember to stay calm and discuss changes, even if you disagree with them. Let me know if there's something else I can help with. // Chris (complaints)•(contribs) 02:40, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
