The word most certainly does exist[1].

The article is a bit wrong in not explaining that words "Serbs" and "Serbians" are oftenly used interchangeably, but other than that it's correct. Nikola 20:38, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

The article is a joke. I have never once heard a non-Ethnic Serb referred to as a Serbian. Serbians are members of the Serbian ethnic group. Serb is to Serbian as Jew is to Jewish. Its a short form that has been used primarily in foreign media.

Secondly, I'm a Srbijanac, and no its not a derogatory word. There's even a famous Serbian song that goes into describing what a Srbijanac is in which the refren clearly states "THIS IS HOW YOU CAN TELL IF SOMEONE IS A SRBIJANAC" "...po tome se znaju Srbijanci."

I'm gonna do some conservative editing.

Serb is like srbin in the native language and Serbian is like Srbijanac. There is a distinction in that Srbijanac or Serbian distinguishes that the person is from Serbia. Serb just denotes an ethnicity not necessarily being born in Serbia. It is the same with Croatian and Croat and Bosnian and Bosniak.(Edvinm 07:58, 20 September 2007 (UTC))

[edit] New title for the article

I think that article is (or should be) about the usage of the term Serbians and its possible or impossible translation into Serbian - Serbocroatian - Croatian - Bosnian (etc.) language (or languages). Depending on the region in which the term is used several interpretations can be and are being obtained. At the moment, it seems that a change of name for the article would be better than moving Serbians to Srbijanci. I suggest something like Use and translation of the word Serbian and Serbians - according to naming of Use of the word American article (which now has became a redirect to American (word) ). --Biblbroks's talk 03:08, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
