Squawktalk never appeared in the Marvel comics, or the Animated series. He never stops talking except to refill his fuel tank. Knows over 250 Earth and 6300 alien languages, but never has anything interesting to say in them. Combines with his partner to become Squawkbox. Squawktalk transforms into a micro-casette, and can be inserted into the Decepticon Soundwave's chest compartment.

Squawktalk did not appear in the Dreamwave comics, but he got a one-page bio on the 'More than Meets the Eye' series.

Squawktalk did not appear in the IDW publishing, but Squawkbox appeared in Transformers: Megatron Origin beside Soundwave and Starscream after they massacred the senate. Squawkbox would appear again in Transformers: Spotlight on Sixshot, where he informed Sixshot the location of the Terrorcons.

Squawktalk was a minor background character appearing in Fun Publications fiction "Gone to Far", a text-based story set on Transtech Cybertron.
