Squaw Valley Academy

Squaw Valley Academy is a college-preparatory boarding school for grades 6-12, located in Squaw Valley, California. The school was founded in 1978 by Don Rees, who is currently serving as headmaster. The school is run on a day to day basis by Mr. Rees and a staff of senior administrators, many who have who have worked and taught at SVA a number of years.
The school's mission is, "We challenge with rigorous academics; we support with consistent behavioral standards; we train in life-long sports; we provide outdoor adventure; and we foster self-esteem through real accomplishment."
For prospective students and/or employees currently over 50% of SVA Teachers have Master's degrees either in their field or in Education; and the school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
The school is academically focused with graduating students consistently being accepted to four year colleges across the United States.
Fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Squaw Valley Academy meets the California state standards for middle and high school students. The faculty prepares students for the college of their choice by meeting the standards for the University of California system. The school's graduates maintain 100% college acceptance rate into an average of three universities or colleges. Students may receive dual high school and college credit recognized by the California State University and University of California schools by participating in the Academic Enrichment program at a local community college.
About activities; SVA offers a wide range from bowling to gym to ski/snowboarding, along with there rigorous academics, consistent behavioral standards, life-long sports, and outdoor adventure.
