[edit] Welcome
Hi i just noticed your recent edits to the Northern Territory Baseball related articles and would like to invite you to join Wikiproject Australian Baseball, a group of wikipedia editors commited to all articles related to Australian Baseball, thanks and welcome! --Dan027 09:24, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] SS Gothenburg
Another editor has proposed a section deletion on the article. Thought you should know as you've put in a lot of work on this. Naturally I oppose the deletion, it was the reason the article got the DYK nomination in the first place! Mjroots (talk) 11:09, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- All you need to do at the moment is to present your case for the retention of the section in a reasoned manner. Address the issue at hand, an not to attack the proposer who proposed the deletion. He has every right to do so, and should not be attacked for exercising that right. Mjroots (talk) 09:41, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Re: HMAS Protector (1884)
No worries. It's a great looking article. --Nick Dowling (talk) 04:30, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Gothenburg references
I took a look at the two specific references you asked me about. The first, someone had already largely reformatted; and the second, I reformatted. Forgive my ignorance, but "The Argus" referred to was The Argus (Australia), the defunct Melbourne newspaper, right? Anyway, if your reference is to a news clipping from that paper, then it’s formatted correctly. (If it was instead in a book, it will need to be reformatted.) I gave a quick once-over to all of the other references and made some minor tweaks here and there. Mostly it was ensuring that all the refs list as "Lastname, Firstname", and adding location aids, primarily OCLC numbers (especially useful for pre-ISBN works). — Bellhalla (talk) 13:40, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Loch Vennachar
Hi, you've listed this for DYK as created on the 24th, but it was created on the 21st! It might be an idea to create tourself a sandbox and work on an article there before releasing it in a completed form. Mjroots (talk) 15:25, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- You create a sandbox by making it a subpage of your use page. Like this User:Spy007au/Sandbox. All you need to do is add some text and save it, and you have your sandbox. Mjroots (talk) 05:58, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] John A. Gilruth
This article which you created appears to be a copyright violation as it is an exact copy of this from the Australian Dictionary of Biography. Please look at the information now on the page and see if you can use that source to write a proper wikipedia article. --Bduke (talk) 01:40, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
I will see if I can write a stub to keep it. Have a good trip. --Bduke (talk) 03:14, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Loch Line
No problem, would you mind patrolling my new articles in return? Mjroots (talk) 10:07, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- There's only 19 of them, link at top of my talk page. Easiest way is to patrol one, then click the back button twice to return to list for next one. Mjroots (talk) 10:23, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Darwin Rebellion DYK
--Daniel Case (talk)
I don't have the time right this minute for an in-depth review of Darwin Rebellion. But here are some suggestions after a quick look-through:
- A few full dates are linked but most are not. Whatever the choice, it ought to be consistent—even in references. (I de-linked some solitary years per WP:MOSNUM.)
Most references are "Lastname, Firstname" while others are "Firstname Lastname". They should be consistent, too.Scratch that. There was only one, and I changed it.- For consistency it should either be Dr (no period) or Dr. (with period) throughout the article. (I know in standard American usage a period is called for, but don't know about Australian/Commonwealth usage.)
- The image in the "Aftermath" section should be moved so it's either right aligned or not directly below the heading (per WP:MOS#Images). Also, the "hard-coded" image sizes for all images are not necessary. (Some people get really picky about not having "hard-coded" image sizes.)
- The notation at the bottom of Image:Darwin Rebellion 1.jpg is a bit problematic for a GA nom, since there does not appear to be any permission on the image page.
- The lead section needs to be expanded. For an article this length, it should probably be expanded to three paragraphs.
- Some context for some of the terminology (or some wikilinks) for non-Australians would be helpful. For example, it might be nice to spell out that this took place in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. Also, as someone not intimately familiar with Australian government and/or election, I had a little difficulty following the election details in the "Background" section. Are commonwealth elections for the Parliament of Australia? And would South Australia elections be for the Parliament of South Australia? Are they for other offices, too?
I'll have more time for a more in depth review and/or copyedit after this upcoming weekend. — Bellhalla (talk) 04:26, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Some very good work done from the top end - good stuff - specially the maritime history stuff - well done- and cheers SatuSuro 09:16, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Great to see the DYK'S - but see if you can get into practice tagging your arts - li i have just done for your more recent two - well worht the effort - helps the oz project keep tabs of itself and keeps things in perspective - orphan arts are a pain for wikipedia- and tag and cats are part of that - cheers SatuSuro 09:34, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

- Nah my apologies - not well explained from an ex resident of rapid creek - you get the following :| - on the talk page that shows red as a discussion page - Template:And then the WP Australia and then one of the
If there are other projects (like people are WPBiography with the squiggly sides) that need to be put there - find an art in the project and reverse engineer their talk pages always the best way to go SatuSuro 12:22, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
You probably knew it all anyways but mightnt have known it in that term of tagging SatuSuro 13:04, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
With that number of dyk's and excellent maritime history items - gawd in my first year i couldnt even put a summary up :( - we were in rapid creek in 92 i think it was :| SatuSuro 13:11, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] re: Concordia
Hi, Wikipedia:Naming conventions (ships) should be able to give you a pointer to the best name for the article. Nick Dowling (talk) 10:40, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Batavia (ship)
It could be interpreted that a summary of, and link be made to the Wiebbe Hayes art at the Batavia (ship) article -I was advised to re- read it after my first read - and realised it was an invite to add :| cheers SatuSuro 13:34, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
