[edit] Disambig?
I think that this should be the disambiguation page, and then we save Spyro the Dragon (game) for the first game. Tom Temprotran 01:01, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
- It might actually be better to have the disambig page at Spyro (it is currently a redirect to the Spyro character article), and this article discuss the first game in the series, as the article title is the proper title of that game (this is consistent with some other game articles, such as The Legend of Zelda.) --Stratadrake 01:48, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Nov Clean up
I deleted the list of enemies as it was a long and indiscriminate list WP:NOT. I also deleted the section telling players where all of the dragon eggs can be found in the levels. The info belongs on one of the wikigaming sites but not here Pnkrockr 16:37, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- UBER AGREED. Had I been checking up on this article more often I'd have done it myself, indiscriminate lists must begone. --Stratadrake 04:03, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] December cleanup
Hoo boy, I felt like editing first and asking questions later again. Summary of my latest edit is thus...
- Reorganized sections; "Gameplay" first, "Story" later.
-
- Note that much of the information presented each character describes their role in the game's gameplay, not in the game's narrative. This is why.
- Removed various POV.
-
- Spyro's inability to swim was not "fixed" in later games -- this implies that it was a flaw, which is an opinion. Just because later Spyro games featured underwater swimming does not mean that earlier games should be criticized for not having it.
- Removed indiscriminate information, the stuff that would be more at home in a videogame strategy guide (which Wikipedia is not).
-
- List of Sparx's colors and what they mean. If it's worth mentioning, then please integrate it into the article, don't just provide a list.
- List of Gem color denominations.
- Lists of levels within each world.
- Removed the mention of flying levels. Yes, the levels are notable and should be mentioned, but the second-person references are simply unacceptable. I'm sure there's a decent version of their mention somewhere in this article's edit history, I'll go dig it up later.

[edit] Was this game popular in the 1990s?
I noticed that the 1990s article has a list of popular games and their releases, adn I was wondeirng if maybe Spyro could be considered one. It received favoravle views everywhere, and was a bestseller too. Think it's count? Abby724 01:34, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- The decade articles contain lots of trivia, and it's hard to ascertain what's the most popular or whatever. I'd leave it out.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 14:07, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Gnasty's World/Gnorc Gnexus
From the article:
Gnorc Gnexus (Gnasty's World in some countries)
I suspect someone mistook the name of the home world to be that of the world as a whole. See what everything is called in my European copy:
Artisans +----------------------+ | - Stone Hill | | - Dark Hollow | +--- Home - Town Square | | | - Toasty | | | - Sunny Flight | | +----------------------+ | | Peace Keepers | +----------------------+ | | - Dry Canyon | | | - Cliff Town | +--- Home - Ice Cavern | | | - Doctor Shemp | | | - Night Flight | | +----------------------+ | | Magic Crafters | +------------------------+ | | - Alpine Ridge | | | - High Caves | +--- Home - Wizard Peak | | | - Blowhard | | | - Crystal Flight | | +------------------------+ | | Beast Makers | +-------------------------+ | | - Terrace Village | | | - Misty Bog | +--- Home - Tree Tops | | | - Metalhead | | | - Wild Flight | | +-------------------------+ | | Dream Weavers | +------------------------+ | | - Dark Passage | | | - Lofty Castle | +--- Home - Haunted Towers | | | - Jacques | | | - Icy Flight | | +------------------------+ | | Gnasty's World | +----------------------------------+ | | - Gnorc Cove | +--- Gnorc Gnexus - Twilight Harbour | | - Gnasty Gnorc | | - Gnasty's Loot | +----------------------------------+
If you have (say) a US copy, please check. --Jonathanvt 15:10, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
I just looked at the US site from the external links in the hope of finding some evidence. There, under travel, it's called Gnasty's World. Google results for "spyro gnorc gnexus" also agreed with my observations. I'll edit the article accordingly. --Jonathanvt 12:40, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] PocketStation
The Japanese version uses PocketStation? It's not in the article. --200.103.117.40 16:13, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, see here: http://spyro.mozepy.com/ENTERTAINMENT/PocketStation.html I don't have the energy to add the information; maybe later, but feel free to beat me to it. --Larry Hastings (talk) 12:11, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Legacy Removed?
Seriously, why did the legacy get deleted? This game has spawned tonnes of sequels and is the equal 26th best selling franchise? wtf? User:Crasnex 19 December 2007 —Preceding comment was added at 05:57, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Movie Adaptation
Seeing as it actually states on the page that it has nothing to do with the original Spyro series but rather the "Legened of" or whatever they're calling it these days, I don't see why it should be mentioned on a page of the very first game, but rather should be mentioned on the 'Series' page. Thus, I'm deleting it seeing s I feel it's irrelevent. 212.219.254.158 (talk) 15:09, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:SpyrotheDragon.jpg
Image:SpyrotheDragon.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Abilities and Controls?
I don't think that really belongs in the article and it should be taken off. Anyone agree? Flamingtorch372 (talk) 19:16, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Music in Different Versions
Just saying i've cleared up any confusion on the music between the US and PAL version. I got confused when reading about the music, here's the differences:
Just so you know i have (or did have until the disc snapped) the Australian PAL version of the game, and i accidentally ended up with presumably the US soundtrack on mp3, here are the differences:
I noticed the high caves music i have on mp3 is definently not the High Caves music i had in my game. And i found what was the high caves music in my game was actually the Beast Makers Alternate music in the US version and Vice Versa. I'm pretty sure the High Caves music in the US version is the Beast Makers Alternate in the PAL verison. So the High Caves and Beast Makers alternate music are just switched around.
I thought there was a couple more, but that's it, i hope this clears things up a bit. (GT4GTR (talk) 12:39, 4 June 2008 (UTC))
