This test Vostok spacecraft was the fourth in a series of spacecraft designed as precursors to manned space flight. The spacecraft carried a dummy cosmonaut, the dog Chernushka, mice, and a guinea pig.[1] The flight lasted for a single orbit, and a successful recovery was made.
