Hey Springer!!

Thanks a lot for the wishes! Wish you A Happy Independence Day too..albiet a bit late... :-P .. I haven't been on wikipedia lately. I am playing in a band over here. And we are going to Chennai next week to participate in the 2nd round of a nation-wide band hunt kinda thing. And I am playing bass in the band, and I a still not very good at it, so, band practise takes up a lot of my time. Anyways, I gotta have my dinner now. Catch ya later! Cheers! [edit] Barnstar

Hi again. Hey since you ask me before that I was from California. Which state are you from? I am just curious. I also want to give you this custom made barnstar for having such a great and unique username. Take care. Cheers. King Lopez Contribs 09:46, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you! I'm from Tennessee (although was born in Dublin, Ireland) but I also live in California now—for the record I use Internet Explorer, and Windows XP, and live in California. That's why you rock. Because I do! :P —  $PЯINGrαgђ  15:18, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dear Cliff

My sweet Kyoko and Cliff, I need you both to do me a great favor, if you can. Tomorrow afternoon, I'llgo on a short wikibreak of at least a couple of days, for reasons you already know (Cliff, I'm also sending you an email in the next hours). This means, I'll be unable to take care of sending the note to notify the upcoming Today's Wikipedians. If you could do this on my behalf, friends, I'd be delighted and grateful, because I don't want the little campaign to stop. Please, let me know if that's ok with you, k, guys? Love you both, Phaedriel - 22:12, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

I would be happy to—who are they? —  $PЯINGrαgђ  00:24, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The barnstar

Thanks, but I really can't take credit for it. The ASCII Art was produced by a program called figlet- not any talents of my own. Thanks for the thought though :) --Laugh! 17:24, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Careful on User:Jimbo Wales; seems like a lame edit war anyway. GDonato (talk) 18:27, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

I usually watch myself. But I guess some people are insistent on removing all humour from Wikipedia anyway, so :/ —  $PЯIПGrαgђ  18:33, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
I didnt remove it because I lack humour but because I thought it was humour at Jimbo's expense and that you were unnecessarily giving him a hard time, SqueakBox 18:35, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
I did not originally put that there, and Jimbo would full well have removed it if he didn't like it. —  $PЯIПGrαgђ  18:36, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Well I think we can do without that regardless of who thought it up first, SqueakBox 18:37, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] my Day!

Cool! Thanks to you and Phaedriel both, I'm honored! Have to admit I was secretly hoping for a little Sándor Petőfi or Endre Ady, but Bronte works for me too. ;-) K. Lásztocska 04:20, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm glad you like it. :) I was wondering when she would do yours… ;) —  $PЯIПGrαgђ  04:35, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Spring, I think I want to hug you. Dfrg.msc 10:28, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Yes, it blasts those vandals good.
  • No, it tends to burn if you leave it on.
  • I'll have mine mashed thanks.

[edit] Ed' review:

I've placed a review on your Editor Review page - wouldn't mind if you'd be free to place a review on my review too! You can never have enough people telling you how badly you're doing lol! ;) Hmm, did you steal my little man from my talk page & put it on yours? It's okay though, because I originally stole it from someone else too. Anyway, see you around. Spawn Man 05:45, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you so much for your help, dear Cliff! :) I don't know what I'd do without you ;) See you at your mailbox sweets. Love, a very tired Phaedriel - 21:34, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your stress alert

Hey, I'm sorry to hear that =/ Bipolar is a bitch, although I've been fine without medication for the past few years, I feel your pain. Wanting to scratch the paint off the walls one moment and just lie on your bed and do nothing the next is crap, and ADHD doesn't help with any of it either. If you want to talk about it, feel free to contact me via the addresses on my user page, or /msg Usrl on Freenode IRC --Laugh! 19:32, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

It's all right—I'm not doing too horribly now (I think I posted that well over six months ago). Sometimes I can go off medication for two weeks or so, but if I start getting too bad I go right back on it. Oh, and your "wanting to scratch the paint off the walls one moment and just lie on your bed and do nothing the next" gave me a real good laugh by the way. :) —  $PЯIПGrαgђ  00:12, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Springeragh

Hey, Cliff have you thought about requesting to be a administrator? You have been editing for more than a year looking at your contributions. I think you will make it. You think? King Lopez Contribs 09:45, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Since November 18, 2005 to be exact. :) Actually I'm going to wait until I have at least 1000 mainspace edits first, and also until Tchaikovsky is FA (hopefully). But that shouldn't be too terribly long. Thank you for suggesting. :) —  $PЯIПGrαgђ  19:13, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Let me know when Cliff. I would support your nomination for administraton. Cheers mate:) King Lopez Contribs 09:41, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tchaikovsky: Compositional Style

I've started this section in the main Tchaikovsky article and it's already getting fairly large. I expected this and intend to eventually break it off to become a linked article. First, though, I want to keep working on it where it is currently. That way, I can eventually figure out what excerpts to copy and pull together to form an intro tag in the main article. So if you see the main Tchaikovsky article's grown quite a bit or is getting a little long for comfort, please don't worry—it's only a temporary situation.

BTW, keep up the work on the main article when yoiu see fit. You're doing a great job! Jonyungk 04:52, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Strive

Ahem. Spring, I award you the Strive banner for Striving to be a force of good on this English Wikipedia.

I've been at the coast the last few days, the nicest thing about the coast was the trip, which was pretty spectacular, so much so I made a video of the descent. The best weather coming down the mountain, however, it did not hold up, and the rest was cold, rainy and windy. Cheers, Dfrg.msc 11:30, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] re: star

Aww, thanks! Though it's nothing as bad as, hmm, being under foreign domination for a thousand years, or anything like that. ;-) Thanks though, it's much appreciated. K. Lásztocska Review me? 13:38, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Ehh--I appreciate what you're trying to do, but the more you edit Anonimu's page to get rid of the ugly banner, the more it weakens our case. Editing someone else's page is vandalism no matter who's doing the editing and what they're removing. Anyway, the banner is the least of our worries...the main problem is simply that he's an uncivil, obnoxious, unproductive POV-pushing WP:DICK. K. Lásztocska Review me? 15:28, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Well it isn't vandalism to remove a personal attack. However he has been blocked, although not indefinately. — $PЯINGεrαgђ 01:26, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] More Tchaikovsky

Thanks again for keeping an eye on what I was editing out and putting back in the other night. Glad to have you watching my back.

The Compositional Style section is coming along. Hopefully I'll finish the Orchestration sub-section soon. That should be the end of new material—I think. The more I'm looking back at the material from Brown after I've added it, though, the more I keep thinking, "Okay, break it down. What does this really mean? How can it be phrased to be more user-friendly?" Good to do for potential Wiki readers, it seems. If I've got to look at something two or three times or so, and I'm the guy putting this thing together, what does that really say? Could be I'm being much more self-conscious than usual, but it seems like a good self-consciousness. Jonyungk 03:06, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Surprise! :)

Adam Sandler has visited you! Adam "somehow" promotes WikiLove and wants you to be happy today, and hopefully he has managed to make your day better. Spread the WikiLove by giving something friendly to someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Come on now, go and make someone happy today, or Adam will hug you till you choke, dear Cliff! :) Happy editing! - Phaedriel - 11:53, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Elven name

Hey. I know you're not around due to the heart attack, but before it slips my mind: I have created an Sindarin name for you out of sheer boredom: Longras. If you get it, congratulations and apologies for the lame joke. Will (talk) 15:53, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Oh, and I may have said it already, but my prayers are with you and your father. Best of luck. Will (talk) 01:20, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My condolences

I'm so sorry about your father. I know what if feels like. I know there is nothing I can say to make it better, but for you to just hang in there. Peace. - Jeeny Talk 05:08, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

My condolences too as unfortunately I also have been there. My thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time. Sophia 10:58, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Sympathies and prayers from me too. ElinorD (talk) 11:00, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

My God, Cliff, I'm so sorry to read about this. Hope you are surrounded by loved ones at this time. Please take all the time you need. All my prayers are with you, dear friend. ~ Riana 16:25, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
You probably don't know me, but I just wanted to say that everyone here (including me) is here for you. I hope that you can get through this hard time. --PolarWolf 04:14, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
$pring, I'm so sorry to hear! Sending all my love and hugs and support your way, as I know many others are doing as well. All the best to your family and loved ones, too - I know time spent with them will be much appreciated and a source of strength for you all. Love ever, Cliff! -- Editor at Largetalk 08:46, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
