[edit] Welcome
Hi there,
Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for your contributions. Unfortunately, in each case I found that the article you had created was relatively low in content, and there was actually already another article that had at least as much info as what you provided. As a result, I decided it would be better to turn them into redirects to those bigger articles. It may be that I was wrong to do this (especially since my knowledge of military technology is practically nil), in which case feel free to go back to your articles and write something more comprehensive (for an idea of what the "minimum" a Wikipedia article is, see WP:STUB). From the looks of it, you would probably also be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history and its relatives, where you can discuss the relevant articles.
Just as a parting note, I'll point you to a few other nifty pages you can check out at your leisure, to help make you an even more useful contributor:
Wikipedia:Five pillars - The really important stuff Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines - The still fairly important stuff Wikipedia:Manual of Style - The style guide to make articles look good Wikipedia:Featured articles - The ultimate goal of any article Wikipedia:Help desk - The place to ask any questions about Wikipedia, especially good for getting help editing articles
Hope I haven't scared you off with all this, but if you have any questions feel free to check out the Help Desk, or leave a not on my talk page. Confusing Manifestation 04:04, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
(P.S. You only sign - ~~~~ - on Talk pages and the like, not in the articles themselves. Don't worry, the wiki software keeps track of your contributions to everything. For more info, see this page.)
I have no idea how to get a photo in an article and many of my articles would be better if they had photos, someone please help me.
- Hi, please have a look at WP:IMAGES :) Bjelleklang - talk Bug Me 04:09, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, offline publication, article improvement contests, and other tasks.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a variety of guidelines for article structure and content, template use, categorization, and other issues that you may find useful.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Carom 18:16, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
