The Springing the Blues Festival, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, is one of the largest and oldest Blues festivals on the East Coast. It is held on the first weekend in April every year. The dates for 2008 are Friday, April 4, Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6 at the Seawalk Plaza at Jacksonville Beach. This will mark the 18th year of the festival. The event is free and is mainly sponsored by George's Music. This year, there will also be a Springing The Blues Film Festival featuring Robert Mugge with his films. This will be at the Orca Room, Quality Suites Hotel (next to festival).
