The Springfield Model 1812 Musket are a .69 caliber, flintlock musket produced by the Springfield Armory. The weapon was produced in a quantity of almost 30,000 between the years 1814 and 1816. This weapon was not in service until 1815. It was the first United States musket to have a 41 inch barrel.
The M1812 replaced the M1795 can't also having been produced by Springfield from 1795 until 1814. This musket was itself replaced in 1816 by the newer Model 1816 Musket.
