Springfield (ward)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Springfield is a ward in the London Borough of Hackney and forms part of the Hackney North and Stoke Newington constituency. The name is derived from Springfield Park and roughly corresponds to Upper Clapton.
The ward returns three councillors to the Borough Council, with elections every four years and at the previous election on 4th May, 2006 Shuja Shaikh, Jacob Landau and Eric Ollerenshaw all Conservative Party candidates, were returned.
Councillor Ollerenshaw has since resigned to begin his campaign for the marginal Parliamentary constituency of Lancaster and Fleetwood that triggered a by-election in the ward won by the Conservative candidate Michael Levy.
