Springettsbury Township is a township in York County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 23,883 at the 2000 census. The township takes its name from Springett Penn, grandson of Pennsylvania founder William Penn.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 16.7 square miles (43.4 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 23,883 people, 9,230 households, and 6,359 families residing in the township. The population density was 1,426.5 people per square mile (550.9/km²). There were 9,483 housing units at an average density of 566.4/sq mi (218.7/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 91.14% White, 4.28% African American, 0.11% Native American, 2.46% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.97% from other races, and 1.01% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.77% of the population.

There were 9,230 households out of which 27.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.7% were married couples living together, 7.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.1% were non-families. 26.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.36 and the average family size was 2.84.

In the township the population was spread out with 19.9% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 28.0% from 25 to 44, 24.5% from 45 to 64, and 20.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 99.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.1 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $49,176, and the median income for a family was $58,502. Males had a median income of $40,692 versus $27,175 for females. The per capita income for the township was $24,608. About 2.7% of families and 4.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.7% of those under age 18 and 5.4% of those age 65 or over.
