Spring Valley Academy is a Seventh Day Adventist School located in Centerville, Ohio. The school was built in 1968 from founders of Kettering Medical Center. In 2008, the school celebrated its 40th school year. In 2008, the student count was 275 students. Its primary goal is "spread the word of Christ to an unenlightened educational system". It offers a curriculum based on religion, rather than science or learning. Graduates often have trouble when they transfer to a "heathen" college after completing high school here, since many of the credits are not accepted. In its community, Spring Valley Academy is noted for its ban on students wearing shorts to school during fall, or its "Stop the Blastphemy Week" anti rock-music campaign each spring.
