Spring Creek Correctional Center

Spring Creek Correctional Center is the only maximum security correctional facility in Alaska. It is located in Seward, USA, about 125 miles south of Anchorage. It is located on about 328 acres of land surrounded by national parks. It has about 500 inmates and a staff of 200.
In its history, there has only been one homicide inside the prison and one escape from the prison.
Built as a decentralized campus, the prison was completed in 1988 at a cost of $44,678,000.
