[edit] District Information

The Spring-Ford Area School District is a K-12 school district mainly based in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States, and expands into Chester County, Pennsylvania. The Spring- Ford Area School District came into being when Royersford School District and Spring City School District merged in 1956. The district's name is taken from the "Spring" in Spring City and the "Ford" from Royersford. The district serves Royersford, Pennsylvania, Spring City, Pennsylvania, Limerick, Pennsylvania, Oaks, Pennsylvania, Collegeville, Pennsylvania and Upper Providence Township, Pennsylvania. It is the second largest school district in eastern Pennsylvania, right behind the North Penn School District.

The growing community of approximately 30,000 lies just off the Royersford exit of the route 422 bypass and offers the best of both a small-town atmosphere and proximity to metropolitan attractions. The district is characterized by small towns, suburban neighborhoods and rural areas. Yet, it offers residents a little something for everyone, no matter how distinct their tastes. With it's proximity to Philadelphia, the location offers easy access to the cultural appeal of the big city, as well as the warmth and nurturing of rural America. The community is ideally located near several major population centers, lying 30 miles northwest of Philadelphia, 20 miles southeast of Reading, 40 miles south of Allentown, and 30 miles east of Lancaster.

Spring-Ford is also within a few minutes’ drive of Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA, the shopping and corporate centers of King of Prussia, the new Philadelphia Outlets, the scenic and recreational attractions of Valley Forge National Historical Park, the outdoor attractions of French Creek State Park, historical Hopewell Village, and the quaint and fanciful shops and restaurants of St. Peter's Village. It is also less than an hour's drive east of Lancaster and the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Amish Country.
