Spreti-Rennen
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Spreti-Rennen is a Group 3 flat horse race in Germany for four-year-old and above thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 2,000 metres (approximately 1¼ miles) at Iffezheim Racecourse, Baden-Baden in late August.
It was given Group 3 status in 1972, at which time the race was run over 2,400 metres. This was cut to 2,200 metres in 1987 and to the present distance in 1990. The race is presently run under the sponsored title Preis der Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, and has also been known as the Preis der Badischen Sparkassen.
