Sprang is an ancient method of constructing textiles. It produces an elastic fabric which is sometimes mistaken for knitted fabric. One of the few remaining examples of sprang construction in modern industrialized society is chicken wire.

For more information on the technique check the site: www.denblauwenswaen.nl, search the menu for techniques, click on the sprangpicture.
