Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia and the articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Dyslexia. Readers looking for serious articles will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write (almost) whatever you want. This comment really seems to be against the spirit of WP:BITE. See my comment on your page User_talk:WriterListener#Please_be_nice_to_the_newbies for a more full discussion. Fredsmith2 00:09, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your cry for help

You asked, "hi am wondering if i could have some help editing the dyslecisa page."

Plus, you tried to make a bunch of edits to the dyslexia page, all of which seemed sincere. I think you also have a lot of good points, and probably have an interesting perspective on things since you have dyslexia.

Wikipedia can be a tough place to start editing. The first thing you should do is go to Talk:Dyslexia, click the + button at the top, and add a comment that discusses what you're trying to do to the wikipedia page. Explain you're a newbie, maybe throw in the phrase, "I'm trying to be bold," and say what you want to accomplish, and ask for help in accomplishing it. You can say almost anything or ask almost anything on the talk pages, but many wikipedians get their panties in a wad if you don't follow every single one of the policies when you edit on the actual pages. Those wikipedians really need to read WP:BITE, WP:IGNORE, and WP:BOLD.

You, however, need to keep editing, because I think you have a lot of good things to say. You could also try editing some other pages that you're not connected to, to kind of get a feel for how wikipedia works. Fredsmith2 00:18, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
