[edit] Gilles Villeneuve
I'm a bit surprised there's no mention of Gilles Villeneuve (father of Jacques) under Auto racing in Canada!
Anyway, we're current trying to get the Villeneuve senior article up to Good Article standard for inclusion on portal:Formula One - I believe he is one of Canada's best known sportsmen overseas, so if anyone's interested in helping out, have a look at the talk page and see if there's something you can do. [edit] Lacrosse section
Why does it have just as much about the US in there as Canada?--J3wishVulcan 19:30, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hockey
Hockey is not Canada's national sport, Lacrosse is. Hockey is just a favorite. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 139.142.166.134 (talk) 19:05, 4 January 2007 (UTC).
- Sorry to disappoint, but both sports are designated National Sports of Canada. PKT 19:57, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Canada national American football team
While checking out the template recently added for 'National sports teams of Canada', I was stunned to find out that there is an article for Canada national American football team. Well, to be honest, it's no more than a placeholder, which makes sense because I've never heard of such a team. I'm tempted to put a speedy deletion tag on it.............any thoughts? [edit] Football heading
The heading for football got changed to "Canadian and American Football". I changed it back and Mwalcoff reverted my edit. Does it make sense to anybody else to have 'American' mentioned in the section heading? PKT 14:38, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- I changed it because readers may want to know whether American football is popular in Canada, so a heading will help them find the information. -- Mwalcoff 23:07, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
I removed it from the section title because it makes the left-floating TOC too wide and it isn't necessary. Readers may want to know if cricket or bandy is popular in Canada, should we cater to them also? Also, I originally removed the rugby union section because it seemed to be out of proportion to the sport's minor status in the country. I would like to see a reference for the claim that there are "13,000 seniors and twice as many juniors" playing the sport. heqs ·:. 11:11, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ice/Figure Skating
I'm not the one to write it, but there should be a section here on ice skating, the three - speed, short-track and figure. High level of participation and lots of world champions. Alaney2k (talk) 23:27, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
