Spotswood College is known for its success in volleyball and rugby. More recently Spotswood has revived its Performing Arts Department, and has consistent success in Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festivals, as well as a series of School Musicals, the last being "Disco Inferno" (2006).

The school has four houses.
