Sportfreunde Lotte is a German football club from Lotte, North Rhine-Westphalia. The football team is part of a sports club with approximately 800 members and departments for handball, walking, gymnastics, and swimming, as well as other activities.
The association was established as the gymnastics club Turnverein Lotte in 1929. After World War II the club was re-established as VfL Sportfreunde Lotte on February 9, 1946 and was built around football and handball departments.
Lotte won its way to the Verbandsliga Westfalen (V) in 1996 and after a title there in 2004 was promoted to the Oberliga Westfalen (IV) where they play today.
Sportfreunde deliver their homematches in the PGW Arena (formerly the Lotter Kreuz) which holds 5,000 (800 covered seats, 300 covered standing places).
