Splinter super car

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Splinter is a two-seater American supercar concept made of wood. It was created by a team led by Joe Harmon, an industrial designer from North Carolina. The body is made from a variety of bent and laminated woods giving a target weight of 1134Kg. With a 700bhp twin-supercharged 4.8liter V8 engine, a top speed of 240mph has been predicted, although the team have stated that the maximum speed of the vehicle may not be tested. As of 15 April 2008, work on the vehicle structure is at an advanced stage, and the first body panels are being manufactured. There are as yet no plans to mass-produce this vehicle.
