[edit] LoG genre
The best thing to do is post a note on the article talk page similar to what you left on mine(except dont mention the other editor) and add include those four references. say something like I think the genre should also include metal(American) as these reference say "xyz"... what are other editors opinions? Your acting in good faith by asking on the talk and other editors will also. Then remain WP:CIVIL during the discussion and if the reference comply to WP:V then consensus will change the article without an edit war. Gnangarra 02:58, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- The problem is not the adding of newer genres as much as it is the removal of metalcore. A genre such as "progressive metal" isn't really a problem (again, please cite a LINK), but I chose not to add it myself because adding every genre a band takes influence from is redundant. The sources (one of which solely mentions metalcore) surely call for a valid point with the genre. Even the "genres" you provided only mentioned "death metal" as "hardcore death metal," which we know doesn't exist, other than the fact that hardcore+metal=metalcore. I should've made it clear though that none of this was really wrong on you, but more so the other users who kept removing "metalcore" and adding things that were not claimed. If you wish to add something relevant, do exactly what I did and provide a few sources (preferably more than one, as one person going "this is extreme death metal" warrants not much). If they are somewhat credible then we can take it to the talk page. I'm not excluding everything here -- but take a good look. The only link to a source on the ENTIRE talk page is to the Metal-Archives. I hope you understand my frustration better now. You can describe many bands as many genres, but that doesn't warrant pseudo-genre cluttering. It should be neat and verifiable. That's really all there is to it. Thank you for your comprehension, and I hope this can be worked out without more revert wars (though the users that seem intent on replacing the entire genre with "Death Metal" are the ones causing real problems). Good day. --Ryouga 05:49, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] template
Thanks for understanding (somewhat) the confusion w/ Lamb of God. Anyway, getting off that, I see you seem to have gotten the template. For future reference, I believe you can find out the different templates here and see what you would like. You may also want to add {Userpage} (with two "{"'s on each side) to the top of your page. Later. --Ryouga 04:44, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
