Now, take it in the context of instead of appearance or dress, but in personality. A warm friendly (sometimes overexuberant) personality.

MEISTER noun

1. German for the English word "Master"

Utilized in conjunction with other nouns to imply mastery of that subject:

ex. HAUSMEISTER - literal translation, House-master; idiomatic translation, Janitor

The title was instituted in the year 1997, when young John T. Carter (at the time, still John Andreoli), while in his German class stumbled across the word HAUSMEISTER, and was fascinated. At this era in the hooligan's life, the word SPIFFY was a word that he used to the extent that he currently uses the word UBER.

At about the same time, he had acquired internet access at his house for the first time EVER, and was pondering a screenname to develop for e-mail, instant messaging, etc. Still excited over the usage of the suffix MEISTER, he decided to refer to himself as the Master of Spiff (similar to a Master of Ceremonies, except not), or, more colloquially referred to, the SPIFFMEISTER. It was incomplete, though. He felt that another suffix was necessary.

Conveniently, at that time, he had just been introduced to the incredible television show Mystery Science Theatre 3000, and had just watched a documentary on it, where they developed the name. It was originally going to be Mystery Science Theatre 2000 until the creator, Joel Hodgeson, suggested that it should be one better than that, instead a 3000 suffix. Inspired by this, the birth of the more familiar title, SPIFFMEISTER3000 took place.

Since then, John T. Carter has used the SPIFFMEISTER3000 as his "handle" for almost every single electronic website possible. At one time enthused with changing his title to a faux-l33t title of the TEKNOKRAT, John has since given up seriously changing his title and forsaking his highly celebrated standing as the current Master of Spiff.
