This is a documentation subpage for Template:Spinout (see that page for the template itself).
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template is for use with spinout articles whose lead is transcluded into a summary section of another article. It is placed in the summary article instead of the subsection summarizing the spinout. In order for this to work, the lead section of the spinout must be surrounded by "onlyinclude" tags, so that only the lead is transcluded into the summary article.

The template uses a level 2 section heading by default. To provide a section heading of another level, use e.g.,
