[edit] Format

If they're in mp3 format, iPods should have no trouble playing them, right? Granburguesa 15:02, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Dunno - I'm just going from what the report/correspondent said... Blowmonkey 15:13, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
The article was referring to the fact that other portable music players will likely be incompatible with the AAC encoded MPEG-4 files from the iTunes music store, not that iPod will not be able to play MP3 files. nwatson 15:51, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
I see someone has clarified it. Blowmonkey 20:27, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
I have an account and they are DRMed WMA files. Someone should fix the file format section as I can confirm that the file format is DRMed WMA and can give anyone the rights information they need, just email me (I'd do it, but I'd only end up making it worse since I don't really know how to cite my sources). Leif902 22:05, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

so...can an ipod play them or not? yes or no answer please, im dumb

[edit] Spiral Frog or SpiralFrog?

On the official website http://www.spiralfrog.com I see two different spacing/capitalizations: "Spiral Frog" in the <title> tags of the page (the one shown in the title bar), but on the Home page and the About Us page, it's spelled SpiralFrog. So I'm thinking SpiralFrog would be the right spelling? Oh, and if we can determine whatever spacing and capitalization is correct, I suppose the page could be moved if necessary? Zidane2k1 23:08, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

I read that and thought I redirect fron Spiral Frog would be useful. Then I noticed someone beat me to it! I imagine the article will change a lot in the next few months as details become known. Blowmonkey 07:37, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Spiral Frog is delayed

With much less publicity then when the website was first created Spiral Frog has been delayed. I got this from emailing the company's website. I waiting for the reason.--172.212.29.79 20:15, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vaporware?

Should we include a section on the service essentially being vaporware at this point? It has been delayed again and again, the CEO has quit, they have missed a deadline again, and there is no new news on the site. Telepheedian 15:44, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

    • Let's wait until the end of April.-71.199.163.158 01:31, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
    • As of November, 2007, SpiralFrog is up and running just fine. Downloads are going at a pretty fast speed, and song quality vastly exceeds illegally downloaded mp3's. However, many bands (namely ones I like, lol) don't have actual songs, just documentary tracks.

[edit] It says canadians can register

Any canadian wikipedians having any luck with that? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.199.163.158 (talk) 13:41, 15 April 2007 (UTC).

I got the beta and reviewed it here http://digitaljournal.com/article/181469/EXCLUSIVE_Inside_SpiralFrog_Beta

I put a link on the main page aswell, I felt it was appropriate. Saran81kid91 19:33, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

I can confirm it uses the .WMA format. It also requires Internet Explorer to download (or the IE Tab extension for Firefox). ~V 24.222.117.35 20:10, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Someone really ought to update the article.74.116.7.116 02:35, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Music Selection

I beleive they have an agreement with the Canadian based lable Quinlan Road, can anyone confirm? (I noticed they have music released under Quinlan Road under a different lable, not sure what that means). -Leif902 22:07, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

I checked again and they have an album under Verve/Quinlan Road - Should both be added? -Leif902 22:22, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup Required

There are numerous incoherent sentences. Also, the list of publishers is placed outside of context: there is no introduction to show what, exactly, the list indicates. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dark Green (talkcontribs) 15:53, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Malware???

Should it be listed as malware cause when i attempted to install the Download manger Mc affee claimed it to have malicous code and a quick glimsp of Win 32 when i quickly ended the script.--24.252.197.21 (talk) 22:40, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rest of World

Does anyone know when or if the service is available to the rest of the world apart from North America? The page doesn't give much importance to anywhere else. Placid Carrot (talk) 17:59, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Artist's cut

It is probably worth reporting how much the artist makes per download (the same goes for all online music stores, of course).--Exidor (talk) 12:04, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
