"Spill the Wine" is a 1970 song performed by Eric Burdon and War. Released as a single in the spring of 1970, it was War's first chart hit (and their only hit during Burdon's time with the group), reaching the top five and eventually peaking at number three. The song has been covered a few times since, most notably by The Isley Brothers for their 1971 album "Givin' It All Back", but also by The B-Side Players, Juan Ma y su Sonido Costeño, Rabbits And Carrots, Los Mocosos, Melvin Sparks, Alexander Zonjic, Michael Hutchence, and The Dream Syndicate.
[edit] Pop Culture usage
It can be heard during the pool party scene in 1997's Boogie Nights starring Mark Wahlberg and Burt Reynolds. It can also be heard in Remember the Titans.
