Spike harrow
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The spike harrow or drag is a tillage implement for agriculture. It breaks up clods of soil that result from other tillage equipment such as the disk harrow or plough. This leaves the field in a suitable condition for planting. The implement has 5 to 16 bars with mounted steel spikes or teeth. The spike harrow is now usually mounted at the back of other tillage equipment, but is often a separate implement pulled by a tractor (or horse).
