I. Spiewak & Sons, Inc., commonly known as Spiewak, is a New York-based apparel company founded in 1904. Originally a maker of sheepskin lined work jackets, Spiewak evolved into a major manufacturer of military jackets during WWI and WWII. The company, family owned for five generations, is a leading manufacturer of uniform outerwear, Hi-Vizability safety apparel, EMS protective gear, USPS uniform outerwear, as well as airlines, rental car companies and thousands of others. Spiewak's police jackets are worn by NYPD, Chicago, and LAPD policemen. Their garments protect American Airlines outdoor personnel, Avis and Budget Rent A Car employees, NY Transit and Port Authority, DSNY, etc. Spiewak uniform products include VizGuard safety wear, WeatherTech waterproof/breathable outerwear, Titan outerwear and Golden Fleece industrial outerwear. For the past 100+ years Spiewak has also offered a fashion line of jackets, constructed with "workwear" values, in more sophisticated silhouettes. Spiewak men and women's fashion products can be found at better fashion retailers including Barney's, Nordstrom's, Urban Outfitters, Fred Siegels, and American Rag. Spiewak fashion is also offered internationally at better stores in Japan, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and other countries.
Five generations of Spiewaks have worked for the family, starting with founder Isaac Spiewak, and in the current day with President/CEO Roy Spiewak, Chairman Jerry Spiewak and salesman David Spiewak.
Michael Spiewak, the long-time face of Spiewak Clothing, passed away in October 2007.
